Parents who live outside the Cheltenham Secondary College zone and who wish their child to be enrolled for entry to Year 7 2014 should complete the Student Selection (Out of Zone) Application Form, attach reasons, details and evidence and forward it to the Principal of Cheltenham Secondary College by a date to be advised (usually second or third week of May). Application for Enhancement and Enrichment Program Year 7 2014 (PDF)Enhancement and Enrichment will be offered in English, Science and Mathematics in 2014. The program will suit students who wish to study the major themes in these subjects in greater depth. They will encounter problems and challenges designed to extend their thinking, develop their resilience and initiative, and involve them in research projects requiring skills and knowledge beyond the normal Year 7 Curriculum.
The program is designed to encourage students to strive for excellence and extend their learning beyond the normal Year 7 program.
Intending applicants will need to sit for a test in English, Maths and Science . In some cases an interview may be held to ascertain a student’s suitability for the program.
Applicants are required to pay a $25 administration fee when they lodge their application form.

Closing dates for applications will be Monday 29th April. The Enhancement test date is on Thursday 2nd May.
Year 7 2014 Scholarships
Application for Scholarship Year 7 2014 (PDF)Applications are invited from Grade 6 students for one of two scholarships available for students entering Year 7 at Cheltenham Secondary College in 2014.
Closing date for the application is Friday 17th May 2013
Applicants must be academically sound and of excellent all-round potential. They must be able to demonstrate the capacity to benefit from and contribute to the life of the college.Scholarships will be tenable over Years 7 and 8 to the value of $1,000. They will take the form of a credit note to be used for expenses for Curriculum Materials and Services Charges, the Year 7 camp, musical instrumental tuition and hire of instruments, and books ($600 will be available for Year 7 expenses with $400 being available for Year 8 expenses). The continuation of the scholarship into Year 8 will depend upon a successful review at the end of Year 7. This review will be conducted by the Principal. Scholarships may be terminated by the Principal if the recipient’s conduct or progress are not satisfactory. Scholarship holders demonstrating successful progress will receive the credit note for the $400 for Year 8.

The Principal may, at his discretion, decide not to award a scholarship if a satisfactory standard is not achieved.
Assessment will be based upon
(a) Interview(b) The last two school reports
(c) Specific individual criteria (dependent upon the type of scholarship) as
addressed in the application and at interview.
Short listing will be based upon the application. Receipt of applications will be acknowledged by mail.
